Milan will be Europe’s FM capital for three days

European Facility Management Conference (EFMC), 7th to 9th June 2016, Milan, Italy

Milan/Duesseldorf, April 2016 – More than 500 international Facility Management (FM) executives are expected to attend the European Facility Management Conference (EFMC) which will be taking place from the 7th to the 9th of June in Milan (www.efmc-conference.com). “FM – Enhancing people and business” will be this year’s motto at the conference and exhibition at Milano Congressi (MiCo), Europe’s largest congress centre. The event is being hosted by the European Facility Management Network (EuroFM) and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), with the IFMA Italia Chapter as a local host. The Platinum Sponsor of the EFMC 2016 is again ISS and Gold Sponsor is CBRE.

Re-designed, optimised concept

The EFMC is the largest annual meeting of FM executives from all over Europe and beyond. The unique, pan-European concept brings together professionals and end users from all sectors, gathering in a different European country every year. This year, the event concept has been re-designed, so that the EFMC 2016 will be more topic-oriented, local, interactive, progressive, and community-driven than ever before. To discuss all-encompassing insights into the topics, the event features two focused conference tracks joining business and research perspectives. Also, a digital concept featuring live connectivity, social media engagement, and a brand new EFMC app has been included, and the IFMA Italia FM Day has been integrated into the EFMC.

Almost 60 FM professionals from Europe and abroad will share their expertise at the EFMC 2016. The conference motto illustrates two keywords of the FM future: focussing on business models, strategies and specialisation on the one hand, and caring about people working for and with FM organisations on the other. In the two parallel conference tracks on the 8th and the 9th of June (Wednesday and Thursday), the main topics will be service excellence, managing and supporting the organisation and people, and change management as to the people focus and specialisation on sectors, disruption and change management, value co-creation, connectivity and digitalisation, and transition to sustainable buildings and cities as to the business focus. On Wednesday, Peter Ankerstjerne, CMO at ISS, will hold a keynote about “Disruptive times: Service excellence in a digital world”. On Thursday, Simon Svegaard, Business Analytics Manager at ISS, and Morten Kamp Andersen, Partner at Proacteur, will hold a seminar about “Service management 3.0 – The link between employee engagement and customer experience within FM”.

Study tours and side events

On the 7th of June (Tuesday), study tours will take the participants to Edison headquarter and Galleria Campari in order to allow them to peek behind the scenes of historic and modern buildings in Milan. On the 8th of June, the EFMC attendees are invited to join the Evening Network Event at Gattopardo Cafè Milano, a former church which is now a famous location for exclusive events.

Furthermore, the EFMC 2016 will comprise the European FM Awards Ceremony sponsored by eFM and FSI, the ECS EuroFM Student Internship Award, a Bachelor Student Poster Competition, a Master Student Poster Competition sponsored by TOPdesk, and the Condeco Innovation Lab. The event is also being supported by La Lucentezza (Italian shareholding partner of ECS), SageGlass, and MCS as well as twelve international associations and media partners. Exhibitors at the FM industry trade show are BuilDATAnalytics, Condeco, Ecophon Saint-Gobain, FaMe, FM:Systems, MCS, and TOPdesk. At the exhibition, SageGlass, the revolutionary dynamic glass of Saint-Gobain, will be presented. “SageGlass represents a new approach to solve solar heat gain and glare issues in facades and skylights,” says Olivier Gareil, SageGlass Business Manager Europe & Middle East. “It replaces maintenance intensive blinds, enhances people comfort and helps save energy.” IATA’s (International Air Transport Association) façade engineer will explain at the conference why SageGlass was the best solution to renovate their state of the art office building at Geneva’s airport and solve glare issues.

The EFMC is being organised by Informa Exhibitions and EUROFORUM. Further information is available at www.efmc-conference.com.
