Sofia will host EFMC 2018
On the final stage of the race for EFMC 2018, all the members of EuroFM voted for Sofia over Lisabon.
After intense debates, the board of EURO FM decided the European Facility Management Conference (EFMC) 2018 to be held in Sofia. The event will take place during the Bulgarian presidency of the European Union.
The news was officially announced by Goran Milanov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Facility Management Association (BGFMA) and Vice-Chairman of Euro FM, during the traditional Christmas cocktail BGFMA hosts every year.After 21 years of EFMC events all over West Europe, Sofia is the first capital of an Eastern European country chosen to host the European Facility Management Conference. This is another recognition for the development of facility management industry in Bulgaria and in particular for Bulgarian Facility Management Association“ said Goran Milanov. Lisbon, Athens, Bucharest, Paris, Stockholm and Sofia were pretenders to host the event. The final round was between Lisbon and Sofia, in which Sofia prevailed and was unanimously chosen as the capital of EFMC in 2018.
Conducting EFMC in 2018 in Sofia and the choice of BGFMA to host coincides with the 10th anniversary of the founding of the association, which is another reason for joy and professional recognition on a European scale. European Facility Management Conference (EFMC) is the most important annual meeting of professionals in the field of facility management throughout Europe. Each year the event welcomes between 500 and 1,000 participants.
